GSCM Group, supported by Equistone, strengthens its position in modular buildings with the acquisition of Deltamod

29 Nov. 2021

A few weeks after the acquisition of the Daudin group, a specialist in the manufacture of mobile living facilities, the GSCM group ("Groupe Solfab Constructions Modulaires") has completed the acquisition of “Deltamod”, a specialist in the reuse of modular buildings.

Since its creation in 2013, Deltamod has given a second life to modular buildings by reconditioning them and selling them as second hand. Operational know-how combined with complementary services such as dismantling, transport, reinstallation and recovery of old modular buildings, makes Deltamod a mature and experienced player within the reuse market. Faced with the many challenges of the construction industry with regards to the management of the end of a building's life, Deltamod's offer, based on the reuse of modules, makes it a pioneer in sustainable development and the circular economy. Illustrating this, Deltamod has recently delivered a 1700m2 modular office building to a public institution in the Ile de France region, in just 10 months, following the reconditioning of two modular buildings from PSA and Sanofi.

Based in Nort-sur-Erdre, the group operates mainly in the West and North of France. The success of the company was driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of its founders Pierre Visonneau and James Moutaouadhia, who remain both financially and operationally invested in the group. They are accompanied by a team of approximately 30 employees, who design and build custom buildings by combining existing modules, thus guaranteeing exceptional quality of service and delivery times. Deltamod will inaugurate a new factory in May 2022, which should enable it to achieve a turnover of more than €8 million for the 2021/2022 financial year.

With this industrial combination, GSCM continues to strengthen its position in the dynamic modular building market by offering complementary services to its customers, including those for the purchase, replacement and maintenance of installations. In the context of the RE2020 regulation, part of the law on the circular economy and extended producer responsibility (EPR), this acquisition expands the range of sustainable solutions offered by the group. GSCM's national geographic presence and critical size are assets to continue the rapid development of Deltamod.

Eric Aurenche, President of the GSCM Group, said: "Deltamod’s acquisition is a strong signal of our ambitions in the reuse segment and, overall, in sustainable development for the years to come."

Pierre Visonneau and James Moutaouadhia, co-founders of Deltamod, said: "This opportunity to join the GSCM Group represents a new step in Deltamod's development and positions the modular circular economy on a national scale."

Stanislas Gaillard, Partner at Equistone, said: "We are proud to accompany and support GSCM in this acquisition, which will enable it to strengthen its position in a buoyant market.”

This acquisition marks the continuation of the proactive and ambitious external growth policy led by Chairman Eric Aurenche and supported by Equistone Partners Europe since the Group's acquisition in July 2021.
